Setting strategy with your management team
Important choices keep being postponed, your team works to competing priorities, or the next stage of growth needs a clear direction. We take two or three days for it, away from the daily rush, with you and the people who have to carry the decision.
At the end there is no report but a set of decisions: where you are going, what happens first and who takes on what.
What do we work towards?
Direction
A clear view of where the business wants to go and which customers and activities fit that direction.
Priorities
The choices that need attention first, including what can stop or wait.
First actions and follow-up
Agreements about who takes on each action and when you review progress.
How we record those choices is agreed beforehand, so you and your team can work with them the next day.
The questions we work through
Where are we now?
What is happening with customers, sales, people, daily work and the figures? Which issues require a decision?
Where do we want to go?
What should the business become, who do we want to serve and what needs to change?
What will we do?
Which actions come first, who owns them and what information or help is needed?
An intensive exercise, followed by real work
The exercise takes two or three consecutive days. Scope, participants and preparation are agreed beforehand. The content determines how much time is needed: this is not a fixed programme you work through.
Afterwards the choices have to be carried out. You do that with your own team, or you bring us in for agreed work.
Our experience at the table
We took over staffing company Staffing through a management buy-out and grew it to thirty million euros in revenue before selling it in 2018. Shortly before COVID we acquired tour operator Caractère and rebuilt its business model. That is what we bring to the table: not what a textbook says, but what it costs to actually push a decision through.

Who takes part?
Ilona and Wim work on vision and strategy together. We discuss which people from your company need to be involved in making and implementing the choices.
What do we prepare?
We agree the questions and the relevant background beforehand, such as information on customers, the team, daily work and the figures. You do not need to send confidential documents with your first enquiry.
Where does it take place and what does it cost?
We agree the location, time and fee before you commit. Travel costs are charged separately. Any accommodation costs are also discussed beforehand.
What if I mainly need practical help?
You can engage us directly for an execution assignment. A strategy exercise is useful when direction needs attention; it is not a compulsory introduction to our other work.
