About Ilona
From recruitment agency to tour operator
Ilona was a shareholder in a recruitment agency when she met Wim in 2009. Together they founded Fizzle, took over staffing company Staffing through a management buy-out and grew it to €30 million in revenue.
Then came tour operator Caractère. When COVID brought the travel sector to a halt, they rebuilt the business around selling directly to the end customer. They sold it in March 2026.
At Seven Seas, Ilona mainly takes on marketing, recruitment and operations. She shapes vision and strategy together with Wim.
